Emotional intelligence is becoming a recurring topic in several areas of our lives from children education to team management. According to the Psychology Dictionary, emotional intelligence is “… our ability to process emotions and use it in reasoning and cognitive activities.”
But how does it translate into real life?
Here a podcast from the British Council. It makes you think about the difference between a thought ( I feel that…) and a feeling (I feel + adjective). It also refers to the importance of taking responsibility for your own feelings (“Instead of saying ‘You are making me jealous’ we ought to say ‘I feel jealous’.)
If you want to test you listening skills, you can do these exercises.
Have an emotionally intelligent day!
